Afterpay Day Returns March 17-20: A Weekend Sales Event Offering Deals On Thousands Of Brands

San Francisco – March 16, 2022 – Afterpay, the leading ‘Buy Now, Pay Later’ platform, today announced that Afterpay Day returns for one weekend only – March 17-20. Thousands of retailers, including small and medium-sized businesses, are participating in Afterpay Day 2022 offering shoppers thousands of deals at top brands both online and in-stores. 

Leading up to Afterpay Day 2022, shoppers are invited to “Seize the Deals” and unlock thousands of deals, exclusive product drops, earn rewards and prizes, and save at thousands of brands including Buy Buy Baby, Pandora, PetSmart, Revolve,  Steve Madden, The Container Store and more. Afterpay Day 2022 offers an omnichannel experience for consumers who enjoy shopping IRL at top retailers nationwide. Shoppers can create a digital Afterpay Card they can use in stores and online by completing a one-time set-up flow via the Afterpay app. Then, with every in-store purchase, shoppers can open the app to access their Afterpay Card, check their available Afterpay balance, and conveniently tap their phone on the payment terminal to complete any in-store purchase. 

Consumers are opting-in to shop IRL with Afterpay in-store orders up more than 380% during the 2021 holiday shopping period.² Shoppers today can use their Afterpay Card at several participating U.S. retailers including Ulta Beauty, Dr. Martens and Charlotte Russe stores – offering a flexible pay-in-four option³ to leave stores with their items right away. Afterpay’s App also allows customers to locate participating store locations near them. 

Seize the JDSports Dropshop:

Shoppers marked their calendars for Afterpay’s Dropshop collaboration in partnership with JDSports.com. On March 15, Afterpay shoppers “Seized the Drop” in record time and purchased Air Jordan 1 Mid sneakers in “Shadow Red” exclusively on JDSports.com. The DropShop was accessible only to shoppers checking out with Afterpay. 

Carte Diem – Seize the Savings:

Ahead of the four-day sales event, Afterpay launched a month-long, mobile-first campaign, titled “Carte Diem”, inviting consumers to seize the deal and unlock early access to exclusive offers by shopping via the Afterpay app. An Afterpay Day Sweepstakes invited shoppers to enter for a chance to win daily prizes of $1,000 plus one grand prize winner of $10,000 while making qualified purchases. Plus, qualifying in-store purchases received more chances to win the Afterpay Day Sweepstakes $10,000 Grand Prize.⁴ Participating brands in Carte Diem this year included:
